My approach to dentistry is patient-centered — which means I take the time to listen to your concerns, explain your options thoroughly, and develop a treatment plan that fits your goals and your life. This portal is part of that philosophy.

What this portal is for.

This is your private patient hub. Before your visit, after your visit, between visits — it's where you'll find everything you need: pre-visit prep, after-care guides, insurance status, treatment plan details, your team's contact info, and a direct line for emergencies.

A note on communication.

We're a multilingual practice serving Great Neck's incredibly diverse community. Whether you're more comfortable in English, Spanish, Hebrew, or any of the other languages spoken across our team — we make sure you understand every detail of your care.

Three things worth knowing.

  1. i. Your time matters. We respect your schedule. If we ever run more than 10 minutes behind, we'll tell you when you check in — and offer the option to wait, reschedule, or step out for coffee.
  2. ii. We never push treatment. If something can wait, we'll tell you. If it can't, we'll explain why in plain language. Your trust matters more than any single appointment.
  3. iii. Questions don't expire. Anything that comes up after you leave — text, call, or send us a note through this portal. We respond within one business day, often the same day.

What to expect.

You'll receive a text the day before with directions, parking notes, and a quick checklist. If anything changes on our end, you'll know immediately.

Walk into your welcome
Park in our lot or street parking on Grace Avenue. Walk into Suite 101. Our front desk team — likely Ashley or Tatiana — will greet you by name. Espresso, water, or tea is offered to every patient.

Paperwork or no paperwork
If you filled out forms online, you're done. If you didn't, we'll hand you a tablet with the few items we need. Returning patients usually have nothing to fill out at all.

10-15 Minutes In
Meet your hygienist or assistant
You'll be brought back to a private suite. Your hygienist (often Arnera or Brittany) will review your health updates, take any imaging needed, and prep you for Dr. Schreiber's exam.

The Visit Itself
Dr. Schreiber arrives
Whether it's a cleaning, a cosmetic consultation, or a procedure, Dr. Schreiber will sit down with you first. He'll explain what's happening, ask if you have any questions, and only proceed when you're ready.

Recap, not rush
Before you stand up from the chair, you'll get a clear recap: what was done, what to expect over the next few days, and what's next. After-care instructions are also pushed to this portal automatically.

Out the door with clarity
Front desk handles insurance, payment, and your next appointment. You leave knowing exactly what was done, what was billed, and when we'll see you next. No surprise envelopes in the mail two weeks later.
If You're Anxious About The Visit
Tell the front desk when you arrive. Many of our patients have dental anxiety — we offer noise-canceling headphones, a weighted blanket, breaks anytime you need them, and sedation options when appropriate. You're not alone in this.
Pre-Visit Preparation

Get ready.

A short checklist to make sure your visit is as smooth and efficient as possible. Most patients can do this in 10 minutes or less.

Health update form completed
Any new medications, conditions, or surgeries since your last visit? Tap here when complete.
Insurance card photographed and uploaded
Front and back. We'll verify your benefits before you arrive so there are no surprises.
Photo ID ready
Required for new patients. Returning patients can skip this step.
List of current medications
Including supplements and over-the-counter items. Snap a photo of your pill bottles — easiest way.
Recent dental records (if from another practice)
Especially X-rays from the last 12 months. We can request them on your behalf if it's easier.
Questions written down
Anything you want to ask Dr. Schreiber. Most patients forget at least one question — write them as they come up.

If you're scheduled for sedation.

Do not eat for 6 hours before your appointment. Water is fine up to 2 hours before. You'll need someone to drive you home — no exceptions. Plan for the rest of your day to be quiet at home; sedation lingers gently for the rest of the day.

If you have any questions about sedation, call the office before your visit. We'd rather answer in advance than leave you wondering.

If you're coming in for a cosmetic consultation.

Bring photos of smiles you love. Bring photos of yourself when you felt your best. Bring honest reactions to the smile you have now.

Dr. Schreiber graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Maryland in Neurobiology and Physiology, then earned his DMD from the prestigious University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. After completing a General Practice Residency at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, he joined his father's practice in 2009 — continuing a family legacy of exceptional dental care. He lives in Great Neck with his wife Shira (an ER nurse) and their three children.

Insurance & Payments

We handle the paperwork.

Insurance is genuinely confusing. We've made it our job to make it less so. We accept virtually every major PPO carrier and handle all filing on your behalf.

Verify your coverage.

Submit your insurance card photos through this portal (or share when you book) and we'll verify your coverage before your appointment. By the time you sit in the chair, we already know what's covered, what your copay will be, and whether you've met your deductible.

We accept all major credit cards, cash, and personal checks. For larger treatment plans (full-mouth restorations, multiple implants, smile design), we offer financing through CareCredit and LendingClub — both with extended interest-free periods.

We'll discuss your specific treatment costs and payment options privately, with no pressure. You'll always know costs before any work begins.

Dental Emergencies

When something can't wait.

Dental emergencies happen at inconvenient times — Friday at 5 PM, Sunday morning, in the middle of the night. Here's how to handle them.

If you knock out a tooth

Every minute matters. Steps to take immediately:

  1. 1.Pick up the tooth by the crown (top) — never the root
  2. 2.Gently rinse with water (do not scrub or use soap)
  3. 3.If possible, gently place it back in the socket — bite on gauze
  4. 4.If you can't, put the tooth in milk (not water)
  5. 5.Call (516) 482-7566 immediately — even if it's the middle of the night
